PROJECT SEARCH

Project SEARCH is a one year high school transition which provides training and education leading to employment for individuals with disabilities. This Project SEARCH program occurs onsite at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Each day students learn employabilitly skills in the classroom and job skills while participating in three internships throughout the year. Students participate in monthly progress meetings to define their career goals and plan necessary steps to achieve that goal. The ultimate goal upon program completion is competitive employment utilizing the skills learned during the internships and throughout the program.

Interns build both academic and vocational skills through "hands-on" work experience in various departments throughout the hospital. These unpaid student internships involve complex but routine tasks in a variety of departments throughout the hospital. Rotations include:

          ~Access Station Attendant

          ~Pre & Post Op Supply Clerk
          ~EVS Assistant
          ~Receiving Department Assistant
          ~Physician Respite Room Attendant
          ~SPD Technician
          ~Security Control Center Assistant
          ~Pharmacy Clerical Assistant
          ~Labor and Delivery Stock Clerk
          ~Mailroom Attendant
