In-School Jobs
Before transitioning into community jobs, many students participate in an in-school job. Students are matched with an adult supervisor. The supervisor and Transition/Work-Study Specialist monitor their employability skills. Students are evaluated at least once a quarter by their supervisor and their classroom teachers. These results are shared with the student. They receive grades for their progress on these employability skills and can earn credit for their work.
Examples of non-paid in-school jobs include:
main office aide, media center aide, attendance aide, guidance aide, copy center helper and front door greeter.
Examples of paid in-school jobs include:
custodial helper, cafeteria helper, athletic office helper.
